Update on Brock now Rocky
Rocky had his first appointment with us on Thursday and everything looked great, he weighs 57 lbs at 6-1/2 months old. He got groomed on Friday, here are some pics for you. We are really loving his company. He and Mary are becoming great pals. He is fully potty trained, switched to his new food, and has learned fetch with a squeaky toy...We also went to the riverfront trial yesterday. Rocky is riding in the car like a champ... It's going well over here, Maxx is awesome. Absolutely loves to chase wildlife and play in the snow. We spent some time in upper Michigan over the holidays and they had a ball. Thanks for Maxx Isaiah!

Hello!
Well, we thought we would finally get around to giving you that status update you asked for on Oberon, now that we've had him for just over a year.
Oh, and here's an album of his progress for the year.
Oberon is an incredibly healthy, happy, and all around perfect dog. Between his fancy hair, striking eyes, and calm/friendly demeanor he tends to be the center of attention anywhere he goes.
Which is saying something since, as he's training to be a service dog, he goes EVERYWHERE: movie theatres, restaurants, festivals and conferences, boats, stores, fairs, the circus, fireworks shows, etc.
His service dog training has been going amazingly well. He responds well to loud noises (including fireworks), children being rough with him, being manhandled, loud music, crowds, and is pretty much unphased in almost any situation. He is currently focusing on task training. Specifically, anchoring our son, detecting anxiety, and doing pressure point therapy.
Oberon is amazingly trainable, usually learning new tricks within his first training session. He now knows around 60 commands and understands a vocabulary of around 150 words. Not bad for a 1 year old! He's also great at figuring out commands contextually.
He has but a single weakness: he LOVES other dogs. He wants to be best friends with EVERY dog he sees. Despite SIGNIFICANT desensitization training, he is still a bit too friendly. But he's getting close. He'll sit and whine and only lunge occasionally when another dog is close. :)
He loves playing fetch. He REALLY loves playing karate and wrestling. He loves training. He adores children.
His favorite thing, though, is cuddling up on beds with people. Or laying on their feet. Or arms. Just to have some bodily contact and relax. Every night at bedtime he will lay in the master bed until it is the kids’ bedtime, at which point he goes into their rooms and sleeps on their beds with them.
In short, he's pretty much the perfect dog.
Anyways, that's how he's doing. He's an amazing specimen of an already amazing breed. Thanks for bringing him into our lives!

Bear is with me 24/7. I bought Bailee for my mom, but took her back from her three-four weeks ago to train her, she just proved too tough for my mom to train, not Bailees fault, just more than my mom was capable of doing, but now she's perfect and will go back to my mom. They're amazing dogs. Hey, Teresa.
We thought you might like catching up with our 6 month old, 53 pound “puppy”. What a smart, wonderful, lad we have here. Too smart and sly for his own good sometimes, but wonderful never-the-less (things must be kept back from the edge of counters, tables, etc. or he can slip past unnoticed and make off with whatever is in reach). We’re in week 4 of a 5 week puppy “kindergarten”. Gideon is nicely social with the other dogs, although perhaps a bit overly distracted by the fairer sex...not to mention at least twice as big as any of them. He does a solid “sit” on command, soon to become a “stay”, a good “down” (for lay down), walks at “heel” on leash (pretty consistently), and sleeps in his crate all night with only an occasional need to be let outside. “Come” on command is still a challenge but he will get there. He does well at “fetch”, but still thinks the game is “keep away”. We plan to continue on with formal training, because a great big wonderful dog like Gideon deserves to have everyone enjoy his company.

Just a note about Ditto
(Joker before he came to us--I think you can guess where his name came from!). He is growing and becoming so handsome. Sometimes I look at him and am surprised at how regal he can look. He is playful and curious, and I try to find new games we can play together (he's starting to get good at Hide and Seek with his bone). He's a good snuggler, too, and has started to sleep on my bed at night. He is such a wonderful dog, and I'm just so grateful to have him!

We took him wood cutting again today. His Neuter went great. The vet I use is the best in cache Valley. I gave him a hair cut so he is a new man. He still follows me around every room in the house. I don't let him come on the rides, its so far. August 31 2013

We took Hudson in for his first professional grooming yesterday. Attached are some pics of our fluffy, puffball looking distinguished and cute all at once. LOL! He is weighing in at 23 lbs. today at 4 months old. He is also house broken, he will go stand by the backdoor when he needs to go outside, so smart. =) Just wanted to give you a quick update.

Hudson is doing great! I attached his 3 month pictures. Taken today on Halloween. =)
Today he weighs in at 15.2 lbs! Tomorrow he goes to the Vet for his next set of shots. He is so funny, when he drinks from his water bowl he puts his paws in the water too. His favorite spot to nap is in the corner next to the couch, we tell him he is not in "time out" but he likes to go to the corner anyway, lol. We have been walking to the neighborhood park and he does great on his leash. The first time we walked there he kept barking until he was able to walk right next to Aiden (our 3 year old) who was being pushed in his stroller. I guess he wanted to be close to his buddy, lol. He loves running around with Taia (our 9 year old) and Aiden in the backyard too. He knows, sit, come, leave it, and off. Still working on down and stay. =) He is just so cute and we all love him!

Hudson is doing great! I attached his 3 month pictures. Taken today on Halloween. =)
Today he weighs in at 15.2 lbs! Tomorrow he goes to the Vet for his next set of shots. He is so funny, when he drinks from his water bowl he puts his paws in the water too. His favorite spot to nap is in the corner next to the couch, we tell him he is not in "time out" but he likes to go to the corner anyway, lol. We have been walking to the neighborhood park and he does great on his leash. The first time we walked there he kept barking until he was able to walk right next to Aiden (our 3 year old) who was being pushed in his stroller. I guess he wanted to be close to his buddy, lol. He loves running around with Taia (our 9 year old) and Aiden in the backyard too. He knows, sit, come, leave it, and off. Still working on down and stay. =) He is just so cute and we all love him!

It was a blast and she played her heart out complete with the dirtiest dog award. I now know not to have her groomed before going to a play group. I met with Jennifer who started the group, Melanie North of Lacy Lane Poodles and others with about 20 poodles of all sizes and colors.
I just wanted to let you know She-ra passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test last night with flying colors. We are signed up to continue with the advance novice training class next week.
Have fun with the new puppies. They are gorgeous!

Thanks for letting me know of Holly. She did a wonderful groom on She-ra last Friday. On Saturday we went up to Park City to meet with the Standard Poodle group. It was a blast and she played her heart out complete with the dirtiest dog award. I now know not to have her groomed before going to a play group. I met with Jennifer who started the group, Melanie North of Lacy Lane Poodles and others with about 20 poodles of all sizes and colors.

Hi:
Just wanted to send along another pic of Hershey - we finally got everything back from her photo shoot.
She is doing great - she was spayed almost two weeks ago. Her first day was a little rough, but she was soon back to herself. She wore the cone for about 5 days but then I took it off and she has left her incision alone and it is all nicely healed up.
She is growing by leaps and bounds. She was 36 lbs on the day she was spayed and I bet you she is at 40+ by now. My husband left town on Monday and when he got home on Thursday he said he could tell Hershey had grown!!!
She is just as beautiful as ever. She is a mama's girl which I love, love, love. Caleb is her 2nd best buddy. She loves to play catch and fetch with him. She also loves to crawl on the back of the couch like a cat and lick his hair (it is cut real short in a crew cut). Such a silly girl!!
Her temperament is as wonderful as ever. She is still her own girl - she loves to be loved and petted, but when she is done, she is done!! My husband is constantly telling me that we hit the jackpot with her and I could not agree more!!! She loves to ride in the car with us and get so many stares and comments when we are out and about. She truly is the most beautiful brown poodle ever!!!
We have redone the fence to give her more room to play in the back yard and she loves to run and jump - she is gorgeous in motion. We can't wait to take her into the pool this summer.
I missed my first standard Miss Tillie so much for so long, but Hershey has completely filled that gap and reminded me how wonderful it is to have a poodle.
I hope you all are doing well. I know you are on baby watch and I hope that all goes well.
I have been in touch with a breeder near Houston about getting a playmate for Hershey. She had a litter on the 4th and they are black and white abstracts and mismarks. The mom is silver/beige so I am thinking maybe some of the black ones may turn silver. I told her about your beautiful dogs and all about Hershey. She thought she was a beautiful phantom!!!
Keep those puppy updates coming - I am sure at some point in the future we will be looking for another gorgeous phantom from Salt Lake!!!

She is definitely a part of the family!! I told you that I got a schnauzer a few years ago and ended up giving her to my best friend. I think the problem was that the schnauzer just wasn't a poodle!! They definitely have a personality and smarts that can't be beaten by any other breed. Hershey is perfect. She has a lot of similarities to Miss Tillie, my first poodle, but some differences also. We have already taught her to sit to get her leash on and off to go outside and to sit while we put her food bowl down. Her first obedience class is on January 7. The school is really neat and they teach everything. Here is the link http://www.whatagreatdog.com/ I really think Hershey will make an awesome therapy dog - she is so wonderful at meeting new people. I can't tell you enough how happy we are and how much we love her. She is beautiful. Such a sweet face and those brown eyes are just gorgeous. She is so sweet. My daughter tries to play with her like she is a person and Hershey just tolerates it all so sweetly. She will climb in bed with us or up on the sofa and just love on us. I was gone for a couple of hours yesterday and when I got home Hershey just climbed up in my lap and took a nap while I rubbed her. If we are going somewhere to run an errand without getting out of the car, we take Hershey with us. Everyone around here thinks that she is a lab because of her color - I think that people think poodles only come in black and white.

Hi Teresa, These are some recent pics of Evee....Tyler loved the name for her. She has been such a joy! A few weeks ago, she graduated C.H.A.R.M. school. These classes focused on super positive reinforcement of good behavior. She did really well....I was a proud momma. Evee also made a friend with another standard. We are hoping to get together for a "play date" soon. I think it is so so wonderful that you called to see how she was doing! It has been such a great experience getting Evee from you!
